Not far, but not quite near. An expectation, but also a sense of contentment. A sacred resting place before the approach to somewhere new and unknown.
The contrast of the dark, almost ominous water to the light, wide-open sky gives a sense of wanting to move forward and yet still comfortable to sit back and be. This is a sacred place because no matter if we are staying in the darkness or moving toward the light, the place we’re in is hopeful and redeemable.
