John Jalsevac
John Jalsevac is currently working on his PhD in medieval philosophy at the University of Toronto, where he is a Faculty of Arts and Science Top (FAST) fellow. His dissertation is a study of Thomas Aquinas' philosophy of memory. Prior to grad school, he worked for over a decade in the pro-life movement as a journalist and editor. He lives with his wife and six children in a small town in Eastern Ontario.

The increasingly heated rhetoric towards the unvaxxed is designed to assuage the feelings and retain the confidence of the vaccinated. At least, so argues John Jalsevac, a FAST Fellow and PhD student at the University of Toronto, who is concerned the current trajectory will not end well.
Without a course correction, there is a very real risk that the deep divisions and distrust fomented by misguided mandates will remain with us for years, if not decades, imperiling our ability to respond effectively to future public health crises If vaccines no longer meaningfully slow or prevent infection, and the mandates haven't increased vaccinations, then what's the public health rationale for barring the unvaccinated from restaurants and movie theaters, again?
