A reflection from photographer Peter Stockland: "It was day of bright spring morning sun, and I noticed the peculiar way the light reflected from the bare branches of the trees around a square in front of a church in Montreal. I spotted this little boy on an adult's shoulders and the quiet intensity of his eyes, framed by his hoodie and then by the white blur of the trees, hit my eye. I opened my telephoto lens to the widest possible aperture, throwing everything in front of him and behind him out of focus. The photo makes me think of the "sacred" way children see the world: the great clarity of what attracts them."
